Sleek Blush By 3!!!!

I am always in the mood to buy makeup, no I might not need it but just maybe it could make my life better! So while searching one of my favorite makeup sites www.sleekmakeup.com I came across  a new product they where featuring...something I didn't have from Sleek that I wanted. Sleek has come out with the wonderful palette blush colors three colors in each palette named Blush BY 3. They are so beautiful and the pigmentation is out of this world!! I am never disappointed with most of Sleeks makeup products and with Blush by 3 I am their product junkie for life! They have five palettes named, Pink Sprint, Sugar, Flame, Lace and Pumpkin. I purchased 4 of the five as you can see here. If you love blush this is a great product to try!

Here Sugar should have been called Brown Sugar!  I love the colors they are just beautiful for women of color.

My Favorite is Pink Sprint this is a great combination of pinks and plums I have used the middle color as an eye color as well.

Pumpkin is a wild card the bright oranges and baby doll pink is to die for!

Lace is probably the most versatile palette I find this to be my go to palette. Its warm colors almost match every complexion.

Now Sleek is a UK based makeup brand so you will be paying overseas shipping which is $10.00 and the blush palettes are $15.99 each.  I always suggest getting everything you want at once so you can get the most out of that shipping price I am sure you will find more to buy!!

Doll Eyes!

There are many great spring/summer makeup trends and one that stands out to me are the Louis Vuitton 2012 Spring/Summer runway show the look is called "Doll Eyes". This look calls for the eyes to look very "flirty" eyes with lashes for days! Here I used the so cute Sidney she had the perfect face and brows (everyone knows I love a good set of BROWS). I wanted to make the look more wearable so I choose to use lashes that were a little tamer. Hair was done by none other than Meatta B.

I Recently collaborated with my great friend hairstylist Meatta B on a small project to take celebrities looks and redo them on everyday women! Meatta and I had so much fun working on this project we will be posting more redo's some will consist of Trends, popular looks and product reviews please stay tuned! We both would like to thank our models Barbara Tina Gonzalez, Tisha Parker, and Elly Strzalkowski you were all such good sports!

This first look came from the Oscars Red Carpet with Milla Jovovich and Elly was the perfect person for this look!  Don't you Think???

Elly is one of my best clients!  Meatta had a pleasent surprise when you saw that Elly had cut her hair off but with Meatta hair is never a problem!

Here we took a look on the internet from Kerry Washington I took this look from a shoot for a magazine and just punched up the lip color a little

Tisha had the perfect face she is really beautiful!

Last but not least I really loved Jennifer Lopez so I had to do this look in my own way!

Spring Time In Paris.......

Photographer Dante Marshall of The Art Direction asked hairdresser Meatta Berry and Me to work with him on a project for his client owner of "What's Crepe" at their new location in Birmingham Michigan. The the look they were looking for was a young beautiful girl at a restaurant in Paris.  So we came up with "Spring Time in Paris”.  I would like to thank Dante for including me in this project I really enjoyed our time!

The shoot was set back in the late 60's early 70's from the movie Sparkle all models are extras in the movie which was shot here in Detroit!

 

Sephora Prisma Chrome Eyeshadow

After the holiday I had the itch to buy some new makeup (like I need more makeup)!  I went to one of my favorite stores Sephora and found a new product "Prisma Chrome Eyeshadow" they are luminous eyeshadows with a high shine to them.  I fell in love with every color but just purchased three to try them out Shimmery Sand 10, Bronze Brilliance 15, and Moon Glow 35.  I loved them so much I went back a purchased Emerald Facet 25 and Sapphire Shine 30.  The shadows will run you $15.00 each http://www.sephora.com/ and they are a staple in my kit!  Did I say I love them!!!

Apply a prime to your eye before your eyeshadow is always a must!  This will assure your eyes lasting all day. Urban Decay and MAC Cosmetics make great eye primers Urban Decay has no color so it can be used on any skin complexion http://www.sephora.com/.  MAC's primer comes in many color ranges that will fit you.   For intensity use a brush like MAC 252 http://www.maccosmetics.com/,spray brush lightly with water brush eyeshadow then apply.



Spring Fling

When I think spring lip color I think soft light colors pastels like peachy nudes, soft almost bare pinks as well as lovely nudes. Soft is a safe way to go but this year I want women to take a chance, and happy was I to see that COLOR was in the forecast for spring 2012!  Women....Don't think what you can't do think what you want to do!  So many of my clients talk to me about not being courageous enough to wear color on their lips I don't put limitations on my makeup until I try them first.  So ladies don't be shy let it all hang out!  Make your lips POP with the warm weather, have fun and experiment with vibrant corals, lovely shades of red and bold pinks!   Just have fun with your lips and know it can always be wiped off. 

Now wearing a lip color will call for a couple of easy steps:

1.   Always moisturize and exfoliate your lips.

2.   To help with bleeding lipstick apply lip color then take a sheet of tissue (1ply) place of lips then apply a thin layer of translucent powder and apply lipstick again.  Also applying your lip pencil (same color of lipstick) to the entire lip helps as well. 

3.   Not all of us are artist or even have a steady hand so always have Q-tips, makeup remover and foundation on hand.  It is easy cleaning up any uneven lines around your lips.

Following these steps will assure you having success in your fun journey for that perfect lip color.
